User Control Panel

Below are the options you'll find in your User Control Panel (User CP), separated by category and a link to what each does, in depth.
This is a work in progress, if there is not a link for an option, there will be.  The order set below is as you see it in the User CP.

Account: Your identity and security: profile, display name, password, and account access.

Edit Options

User Control Panel > Account > Edit Options

This is a list of options that affect different aspects of the forum.
It's broken down as the following:

- Privacy:
- - Hide me from "Who's Online" list: This will basically mark you as invisible to anyone that isn't a moderator or admin.  This will hide you from appearing in a few places in the forum, so people will not know if you are online or not.

- Messaging and Notification:
- - Receive emails from administrators: If you want to get emails/email notifications from the Site Administrators.
- - Hide your email from other members: Your email does not show, but turning this on will hide a link for users to send you an email through the forum.
- - Receive private messages from other users: Do you want to get PMs (Private Messages) from other users?  Click this on!
- - Alert me with a notice when I receive a Private Message: If you want a notice when you get a PM, click this on.
- - Notify me by email when I receive a new Private Message: If you want to get an email when you get a PM, click this on.
- - Receive PM notifications for new buddy requests: If you want to get notification when you get a buddy request, click this on.
- - Automatically accept buddy requests: If you want to automatically accept any Buddy Requests, click this on.

- Subscription:
- - You choose from the box if you want to be notified by default if someone responds to when you post in a thread.  You can choose:
- - - Do Not Subscribe: Do not subscribe, this is the default.
- - - No Notification: Only check your Subscriptions from your User CP.
- - - Instant Email Notification: Get an email when someone responds to your subscribed thread.
- - - Instant PM Notification: Get a PM when someone responds to your subscribed thread.

- Date and Time Options:
- - Date Format / Time Format: There are lots of date/time formats.  You should know how you like your dates to show.
- - GMT: You can choose your GMT zone below that field.  If you're not sure, you can check here.
- - DST Correction: If your area observes Daylight Savings Time (DST), choose here if you want it Always Use, Auto Detected, or Never Use.

- Forum Display Options:
- - Threads Per Page: How many threads per page in a forum view do you want to see?
- - Thread View: Threads from the past day?  The last year?  ALL threads?  Or use default.

- Thread View Options:
- - Display images in posts:  Turn images in posts on or off.
- - Display videos in posts:  Turn videos in posts on or off.
- - Display users' signatures in their posts:  Turn signatures on or off.
- - Display users' avatars in their posts:  Turn avatars on or off.
- - Post Order In Threads: Choose how posts are ordered when viewing a thread. “Board default” uses the admin setting.  This is where you choose to show the thread in ASCENDING (↑ oldest to newest), DESCENDING (↓ newest to oldest), or the DEFAULT order.
- - Post Per Page: How many posts per page in a thread do you want to see?
- - Thread View Mode: Linear or Threaded view?

- Other Options:
- - Show friendly redirect pages.
- - Show the MyCode formatting options on the posting pages.
- - Put the editor in source mode by default.
- - Show Side Boxes: If/When there are sideboxes to show, you would display them this way.  Currently, there are none.
- - Board Style: This is where you'd choose an overall theme for the forum, once they're there.  Right now, you have DEFAULT, and you have DARK.  They are both currently the same.

- Custom Time:
- - This dropdown allows you to show all forums in YOUR selected timezone or if it has a custom time set up for the realm, show that.
- - Show Timezone Popup: Check this if you want to be able to hover over a time and see it in multiple formats.  You can choose up to 5 different timezones.  If you don't see the one you want from the choices, you can choose "Custom" and add a label/modifier (+ or -).

Edit Profile

User Control Panel > Account > Profile Settines

Edit profile is where you can share details about yourself.  It's not the same as a homepage (but you can share similar details), and the fields within are optional (aside from your birthdate, which can be hidden from view).
You can also enter your:
- Website, if you have one
- Your Location
- A bio of yourself
- Your gender (currently undisclosed, male, female, other)
- A "Custom User Title"
- An "Away Reason" and date (note -- needs to be arranged to display properly, WIP!)
