Getting Started

A few things to get started:

1. Set up your "Display Name" and "Color Fader".

• Display Name:  User Control Panel > Account > Display Name
  This is your Character's Name, it doesn't have to match your Username.  You can set this to whatever you want, as long as it doesn't match another character or username.
  
• Color Fader: User Control Panel > Appearance > Color Fader
  As the name implies, this controls the color design of your name -- most HTML, text-based chat sites allow you to have a gradient along your name.  With the color fader, you can choose to use the gradient tool and choose between 2 through 20 colors, or you can put in your own custom html code.  It should sanitize any major issues, but please remember to close your tags!
  

2. Set up your "Avatar(s)".

• Remote Avatar: User Control Panel > Appearance > Remote Avatar (Gallery)
  Avatars are set up to be hosted remotely.  You can use any image host you want (like imgur, or postimages, etc) by going to the bottom of that page to "Add Other Remote Avatar", and enter the information (URL, Title), then click on "Add to Gallery".
  You can also set up an account with Catbox, which is more integrated with the forum, where you can upload and link files through an easy interface.  It's 5 steps, and it carries over to your other accounts, and you can use it to host files remotely (Remote File Host)
  
   - Register an account with Catbox.
   - Once registered and logged in to Catbox, click on "Manage Account", then copy the userhash.
   - Return to the forum, and paste the userhash into field for the Catbox userhash, then click to save.
   - Click that you've read the instructions.
   - (Optionally, but recommended) click on the checkbox for "Copy userhash to new linked accounts".
  
  Once this is all done, you can upload multiple images, title them, and delete them from an easy interface that's integrated with the forum.
  

3. Set up a "Linked Account".

• Account Links:  User Control Panel > Account > Account Links
  Account Links are how you tie multiple accounts together, so you can easily switch between the "master" account, and the linked accounts.  Each one is has it's own username and password, just like a separate account, but with it being tied to the main account, you can switch between them from your user menu in the upper right, or even at at your posts.  Each account is able to have its own homepages, avatars, private messages...  If you decide you don't want that account anymore, or you want to attach it to another account instead, you can detach it and then add it as an existing account to the new "master" account...or you could delete it outright.
  
  Deleting your account doesn't erase your previous posts, but it will grey out the name and no longer link to any profile.
